Montreal's Strike for Climate
Yesterday, was a special day in Montreal because Greta Thunberg was leading the "Strike for Climate." With all the added awareness surrounding global warming and climate change, we thought this would be a great opportunity to give you guys a blast from the past. So, we enlisted team rider Emily Pross and shop employee Gaël Abudarham to create this video for you guys.
We originally released "Global Warming" back in the 2003, in order to raise awareness on the topic of climate change. Today the topic of climate change is more relevant than it has ever been. More world leaders are avoiding climate friendly policies, which paints a grim and heavily polluted future for our planet. Because this grim and polluted future, is closely becoming our present, with Thunberg at the helm, Montrealers took to the streets to show their support for Mother Earth.
Fortunately we had fellow shop employee, Gaël Abudarham go out and capture the emotions on display. Gaël was positioned adjacent to the "Entree de Ville Bonaventure" on Robert Bourassa Boulevard.
Approximately 500,000 people took to the streets, and roof tops to show their support for a greener, cleaner planet. Protestors were also not shy in having their emotions and feelings, about the topic, on display.
Climate change is something nobody should ignore. We only have one planet earth, and it is our duty as humans to care for the one single home we all love and share. Making, small, environment conscious changes in our habits can help make make the future a brighter, greener, and cleaner for all.
